Back in January Hitman developer Io-Interactive confirmed that it is working on a new AAA Hitman game for PC and next generation consoles. In the next Hitman game players will experience a globetrotting Agent 47 who is at the prime of his career. As he stalks his prey across the globe he will be supported by Diana Burnwood, his long-term handler as well as the entire ICA. There’s some bad news for those who had their hopes up to get a glimpse of the game at E3 2014. Io-Interactive is going to keep it under wraps for a bit longer.
In an official blog post the developer confirms that despite rumors of what it might be bringing to E3 2014 the next Hitman game is not on the agenda. It says that the title is its number one priority and that it doesn’t want to “divert valuable resources to show something before it’s ready.”
However it does have some good news as well. The developer says that it is making “great progress” with building expansive and exotic locations for Agent 47 to hunt his prey in. To give us an idea of how it all may look like the developer has released the first piece of concept art from the game, the location seen is set in Central Europe with players being able to explore the entire building seen in this image.
Io-Interactive reiterates that it will only unveil the next Hitman game when it feels that its ready to. It also promises to share additional detail throughout the year.
