New Harvest Moon Game To Hit Nintendo 3DS In US This Winter

Ah, Harvest Moon. One of the cuter virtual life games that have managed to capture my attention when it came out all those years ago, where I spent countless hours in front of the TV and PlayStation, pulling up weeds from the farm, as well as talking “love” to the various animals around the farm in order to increase their level of produce. Well, fast forward to today, and I am glad to say that this particular franchise is still alive and kicking, as the most recent Harvest Moon game is currently undergoing localization work, being translated into English as Story of Seasons. Story of Seasons will roll out on the Nintendo 3DS in North America later this winter, at least according to its publisher Xseed Games.

Earlier this year, this particular title was released in Japan and called Bokujou Monogatari: Tsunagaru Shin Tenchi (Harvest Moon: Connect to a New World). It will no doubt carry the game’s DNA, where this farming and life simulation gameplay will be like welcoming an old friend, although there is the addition of new multiplayer as well as StreetPass features.

Story of Seasons was developed in Japan by Marvelous AQL, with this particular project being helmed by Yoshifumi Hashimoto, the studio’s head of development as well as longtime producer of the Harvest Moon franchise.

Hashimoto shared, “Story of Seasons represents a new chapter in our amazing tale. We are creating a new experience that will carry on the spirit of Bokujo Monogatari, and in doing so, will fulfill our loyal fans’ expectations and desires while ushering in a new generation of games to come.”
