A couple of hours back at an event in London LG finally unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the LG G3. This means that the endless stream of rumors has now dried up and now we can look forward to the device hitting shelves. As expected all four major U.S. carriers have committed to carrying the smartphone. They’ve all made separate announcements regarding the LG G3.
Verizon has announced that it will start selling the LG G3 to its subscribers this summer. Its variant comes with support for XLTE bands and includes a Verizon logo on the front. Another logo and 4G LTE branding has been placed on the back.
A confirmation has been sent out by AT&T as well saying that it will offer the G3 as well, but doesn’t include any more details. AT&T’s variant comes with minimal carrier branding which is always a good thing.
T-Mobile is actually running the LG G3 Open Beta Sweepstakes, giving fans a chance to win a unit “before it is released.” One unit will be given away every day from today through June 29th but that doesn’t mean its the release date. To be eligible pre-register at T-Mobile’s website.
Sprint’s variant also features minimal carrier branding and brings support HD Voice as well as the carrier’s tri-band LTE a.k.a Sprint Spark. The gold version of the device initially lands on Sprint as a U.S. exclusive and it is not known as yet when other carriers will get this color.
None of the carriers are talking price as yet but its likely to be priced at $199.99 with a contract as most premium handsets are. They haven’t provided concrete release dates as well so we will have to wait for that information.
