There is no shortage of leaks and rumors about the LG G3, no doubt one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2014. With Samsung and HTC both having already released their flagships all eyes are now on LG to see how it responds. If everything we have heard up till now is true then LG may very well respond spectacularly. Recent claims about the G3 have us believe that it may have a metal back cover as well as a removable battery.
Both claims come from @evleaks who posted pictures of what appears to be a metal back cover as well as a G3 unit which clearly has a removable battery. The possibility that LG may replace plastic with metal isn’t that surprising, in fact the material will do a great job of keeping fingerprints away from the body.
It is unclear if the G3 is going to have support for microSD cards. Last year LG released multiple variants of the G2. The one sold widely had a non-removable 3,000mAh battery but an exclusive variant sold in South Korea had a 2,610 removable battery as well as microSD support. So it remains to be seen if LG has opted for removable battery this time around for all variants.
LG already has an event scheduled for May 27th where it is most likely going to unveil its 2014 flagship. Actual release dates are not known though its possible that the device might hit shelves sometime in June.
