HTC too has been following recent trends of launching multiple variants of a flagship device. Last year after it launched both HTC One and the One mini it followed up with the launch of HTC One Max, a phablet, in fall. The company is expected to take the same road this year as well, with One M8 mini already being extensively rumored. Though now we’re started to hear chatter about the HTC One M8 Prime as well, which would most probably be this year’s flagship phablet.
A report out of Japan claims that HTC’s new flagship is going to have impressive specifications. The device may very well be capable of giving its competitors a run of their money. Since it is believed to launch around the same time as Galaxy Note 4 there may be an interesting competition between both devices when they hit the market.
According to the report the HTC One M8 Prime is going to have a 5.5-inch 2K 1,440×2,560 pixel resolution display, a 2.3Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3GB RAM as well as an 18-megapixel version of the Duo Camera which was introduced with the HTC One M8. The phablet is also said to have a USB 3.0 port.
It is still very early in the year for us to draw the line here. We’re bound to hear a lot of rumors about this device up until its announcement which will probably take place in fall once again. HTC itself hasn’t commented on any of this as yet.
