At the same time both companies are also rumored to be competing on the low-end with the HTC M8 mini and the Galaxy S5 mini, except that according @evleaks, HTC will be naming their handset the HTC One Mini 2 instead. The naming scheme is pretty clunky and not to mention doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, but given @evleaks’ track record, there could be some truth to his claims.
It wasn’t too long ago that we caught sight of the HTC One Mini 2 and for the most part, it looks like the HTC One M8. In fact it even seems to sport the One M8’s BoomSound speakers, although the main difference, physically, is that it is missing the second camera, a feature which the One M8 has.
As far as specs are concerned, the One Mini 2 is rumored to come with a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core chipset, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, 13MP of RAM, and Android 4.4 KitKat on board. For the most part it seems almost identical to the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini with some minor exceptions, so we have to wonder which “mini” phone will do better than the other – what do you guys think?
