Dutch Court Upholds Sales Ban On Samsung Galaxy S2, Galaxy Ace

Apple and Samsung have been fighting a legal battle for the past few years. There are times when Apple gains the upperhand, and there are times when Samsung gains the upperhand. However it seems that over in the Netherlands, the Dutch courts have decided to uphold their original ruling from back in 2011 which saw the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Ace banned from being sold in the country.

Apple’s original goal was to get Samsung’s entire Galaxy lineup banned from being sold, but unfortunately the Cupertino company had to settle for the two devices mentioned above. However we guess it’s still a victory in principle, especially since both devices aren’t exactly the hottest smartphones around at the moment, but like we said, it’s still a victory and can be used as a precedent in future litigation.

Both Apple and Samsung were said to be in settlement talks, especially after Apple and Motorola had finally agreed to settle all lawsuits with each other. However recent reports have surfaced via court filings which shows that neither side appears to be willing to give way to the other, with some inflammatory remarks being made by both parties which seems to suggest that any notion of settlement is out the window.

While it is possible that eventually both sides can come to an agreement, it looks like for now, the patent war between Apple and Samsung is still ongoing and does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
