Destiny is an upcoming game by Bungie, the developers who were behind the original Halo franchise. Activision, the publishers of the game, expects that Destiny will be a huge hit and will reportedly be spending as much as $500 million to help make and promote the game. Safe to say, Destiny will be a big deal, but will it live up to the expectations of gamers around the world?
Well if you want to find out yourself and don’t want to wait until the game is officially released, you might be interested to learn that Sony has recently put the game up for pre-order via the PlayStation store. Why pre-order, you ask? Shouldn’t you wait for reviews? Well, we suppose that’s one way you could go around it, but if you wanted to get in on the Destiny Beta, then pre-ordering the game is the way to go.
The PlayStation store page states that gamers who pre-order the game will be able to access the beta once it goes live, which is expected to take place this July. This will let you experience the game before everyone else so that you can get an idea of what to expect. The game itself will be released on the 9th of September, a couple of months after the beta, so if you’d rather not wait, then you’ll want to pre-order it.
The game is priced at $59.99 and presumably will allow beta access for both the PS3 and PS4 platform. Microsoft has not announced anything similar themselves, so we’re not sure if Xbox 360 and Xbox One gamers can get in on the Destiny beta as well, although presumably they would since we’re sure Bungie will want to test the game across multiple platforms.
