Recently the good news for students planning on attending the Canadian career training institute CDI College is that they will be eligible to receive a Microsoft Surface 2 tablet which will be given to them to help with their studies. The college has 26 campuses and it is expected that all of their 5,800 students will be receiving their own Surface 2 tablets by the end of summer this year.
The Surface 2 pilot program actually kicked off at their Ajax, Ontario campus before it made its way to other campuses, albeit slowly. We’re guessing that the program proved to be a hit since the college has decided to roll it out to all their students as well. According to the Vice President of the college, Dr. Bohdan Bilan, “We need to provide students with the tools they will use when they graduate and the skills that will translate in the future as technology continues to evolve, so the Surface 2 and Microsoft software was perfect for us.”
He later adds, “The experience students receive with the enterprise-quality technology of the Surface devices and Microsoft productivity tools help us achieve our goal of preparing them with the skills and experiences they need to succeed in their career now and 20 years from now.” So what do you guys think? How do you view the Surface 2 as a potential educational device?
