If you have had enough of Call of Duty: Ghosts fret not, a new title might soon be on its way. Activision has started promoting a new release. A countdown timer is already up on the CoD website, counting down till May 4th. The publisher tells fans to “get ready for a new era of Call of Duty.” There have already been countless rumors about the next Call of Duty title, it is believed that the new game might be limited to next generation consoles only, though nothing is known for sure at this point in time.
The screenshot above has reportedly been taken from in-game assets. We should expect to see more after the announcement has been made, hopefully a trailer will be released as well alongside the announcement.
A report that went live a few hours before Activision put up the countdown timer claimed that the next title carries the “Blacksmith” codename and that it is going to be unveiled in May. The timeline does make sense since two of the previous titles, Black Ops 2 and Ghosts, were both announced on May 1st 2012 and 2013 respectively.
This year’s title will be developed by Sledgehammer Games, which has already started creating hype through its Twitter account for May 3th. Cover image, some details and the game’s name is expected to be unveiled over this weekend.
