ASUS already has an entire lineup of products that try to bring the best of both worlds. They’re a good choice for customers who would like to own a tablet alongside their smartphone but don’t want to shell out money separately for both devices. This is where the company’s smartphone/tablet hybrid comes in. AT&T was supposed to carry one of this devices and now it has finally confirmed the ASUS PadFone X Price and release date in the U.S.
Taiwan-based ASUS unveiled the PadFone X back at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in January earlier this year. For a few months AT&T has kept mum about these crucial details, which may have left potential customers wondering whether or not the device was coming to the carrier.
AT&T is going to sell the ASUS PadFone X from June 6th in-stores and online for $199 with a two year contract. The device is exclusive to this carrier. Subscribers who would rather opt for the AT&T Next plan will have pay $22.92 per month with Next and $29.80 per month with Next 12.
PadFone X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The smartphone has a 5-inch full HD display and the accompanying 9-inch tablet dock bumps it up to 1,920×1,200. PMA wireless charging is also built-in. AT&T has started taking pre-orders for the PadFone X today.
