ASUS MeMO Pad ME176C Runs On Intel Bay Trail Processor

ASUS looks set to expand their tablet collection further by introducing a new pocket-friendly (size as well as price-wise) MeMO Pad ME176C tablet that will have Android as the operating system of choice, although it will be powered by an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor, which is a departure from the norm. There is no word on an official launch date for the MeMO Pad ME176C, although there has been whispers of this bad boy retailing for as little as $149 when it finally makes its way to the market.

As for what one will be able to find underneath the hood of the ASUS MeMO Pad ME176C, this 7” Android-powered tablet will feature a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display that boasts of wide viewing angles, 1GB RAM, a choice of either 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, a microSDXC card slot for expansion options, a 5MP camera at the back as well as a 2MP shooter in front, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and GPS support.

A 3,910mAh, 15 Whr battery would keep things running for perhaps up to 10 hours, where Android 4.4 KitKat will run with the Asus ZenUI user interface on top of it. Will consumers bite, that is the biggest question of it all.
