The Taiwan-based company today introduced its new “True” 4K/UHD or Ultra High-Definition monitor. It says that the PB287Q monitor delivers “the best PC viewing experience” for all users, so not only home consumers get great clarity and image realism but visual artists, gamers and professionals too. ASUS says that it has been designed with “prosumers” as well as gamers in mind.
The company says the image clarity of its new monitor has to be seen to be believed, as its capable of delivering next-generation 4K UHD visuals that have resolutions four times greater than full HD.
ASUS PB287Q delivers 1ms (gray-to(gray) response time with a 60Hz refresh rate making sure that games or video content remains fluid and responsive. Its capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors and offers “outstanding” color reproduction and saturation with smoother color gradations.
ASUS’ new 4K UHD monitor also brings extensive connectivity options which include two HDMI ports, with the second providing MHL support as well as DisplayPort 1.2 for true 4K/UHD support at up to 60Hz refresh rates. It even includes a Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture mode allowing users to switch between multiple video sources easily. Picture-by-Picture lets users connect two PCs to the same monitor and view desktops of both in split-screen view.
Starting mid-June the ASUS PB287Q 4K/UHD 28-inch monitor with 16:9 aspect ratio will be available at major retailers in North America. Prices start from $649 and will vary by country.
