Do you have an old iPhone that you’ve been wanting to get rid of and perhaps upgrade to something newer? Well you might be in luck this week because according to sources of 9to5Mac, they have learnt that starting on the 8th of May, Apple will be holding an “enormous” iPhone-related event in its stores to help boost iPhone sales.
This event will supposedly be separate from its normal trade-in program and will see Apple attempt to reach out to upgrade-eligible iPhone users. Apple will be sending out emails to these users where they will invite them to come on over to their local Apple Store to upgrade their older iOS device to something new, like the iPhone 5s or the iPhone 5c.
Now we’re not sure how different this program will be from Apple’s trade-in program, but it does sound like a pretty big deal otherwise it wouldn’t be worth the attention that it’s getting, right? Apple’s store management and workers are expected to be briefed soon so we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information about this iPhone-related program.
It will also be the first major event that Apple’s new SVP of Retail, Angela Ahrendts, will be overseeing. Ahrendts recently started working at Apple after stepping down from her position as the CEO of luxury fashion house, Burberry. In any case do check back with us on the 8th of May if you’d like to find out what exactly does Apple have planned.
