The company today rolled out a couple of software updates and an update to iTunes is rolling out as well. iTunes 11.2 is now available for both Mac and Windows. Since its not a big update in any way you won’t find any major features however it does bring a few improvements that will make the overall user experience much better.
iTunes’ Podcast feature has received some improvements. Users will now be able to quickly locate the episodes that they haven’t listened to. An “Unplayed” tab has been added in the Podcast section of iTunes 11.2 which lists all of the content that a user has missed out on.
Another change with regards to this feature is that the “Feed” tab is now capable of letting users browse episodes that are available for download or for streaming. Podcast listeners also get the ability to automatically delete episodes once they have listened to them. There’s also an option to save podcasts on the computer for future listening.
iTunes 11.2 also brings a bug fix which previously caused the software to become unresponsive when recommending songs through Genius. The update improves overall stability and performance so its recommended that users download it right away.
Also released today is OS X 10.9.3. An incremental update for Mavericks that brings stability and performance improvements as well as better 4K display support.
