In fact this isn’t the first time Apple has beaten out Samsung with regards to the iPhone. Back in 2013, the survey found that Apple’s iPhone had pulled ahead of Samsung with a score of 778 to 592 (out of a possible 1,000). This year it seems that Apple has managed to pull ahead even further with 798 to 600.
Apple had managed to gain 20 points versus Samsung’s 8 points, thus widening the gap. Interestingly enough there does not seem to be much love for local-branded smartphones, with other companies such as LG and Pantech scoring around the same as Samsung as well. For example, LG scored 609, which actually took the number 2 spot away from Samsung.
Based on responses from nearly 10,000 smartphone buyers, Apple scored pretty high with the iPhone 5s and managed to get a score of 810, where the only area in which Apple did badly in was durability. This was followed by LG’s G Pro 2 which came in a score of 702, and Samsung’s Galaxy S5 at 652, where the latter was ranked below average in a number of categories.
