Usually when it comes to speakers, most people prefer having a separate set of speakers, as opposed to using the ones built into some monitors. This is because with separate speakers, they can choose the type of quality they want, like whether they’d rather pay for high-end speakers, or just want something cheap.
That being said, AOC has announced a new 24-inch monitor that will aim to satisfy users who want high-quality audio, but don’t want the hassle of setting up new speakers and taking up desk space. The i2473PWM is AOC’s latest monitor and will come bundled with a base that houses two Onkyo speakers in them.
The speakers measure 7-inches each by placing it at the base of the monitor, it should be able to reach the ears of its user pretty easily. Onkyo is also a company known for their home theater systems, so safe to say that you can look forward to better sounding audio. It won’t be audiophile quality and probably won’t come with window-rattling bass, but it should be more than capable of getting the job done.
As for the monitor itself it will sport a HD IPS LCD display and a resolution of 1920×1080. It will also have a refresh rate of 60Hz, a color depth of 16.7 million, a dynamic contrast ratio of 50m:1, and will offer VGA or HDMI connectivity. There is also a mobile high-def link that will allow users to charge their phones while connected to the display. The AOC i2473PWM is priced at $249.99 and is available from Amazon where it is expected to begin shipping on the 22nd of May.
