Samsung has already released the Android 4.4 KitKat update for a handful of its devices. Rumor has it that the company is now working to bring the update to a few of its low-end and mid-range devices as well. It is also claimed that the company has started working on Android 4.4.3 for Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4. Apparently testing has begun on both Exynos and Snapdragon powered variants of the Galaxy S5 and the LTE-A variant of the Galaxy S4.
The folks at Sammobile hear from an insider that at this point in time Android 4.4.3 is only being integrated with Samsung’s own features and software. Google services and apps won’t be baked in until the timeframe for the roll out is official. It is believed that public rollout of Android 4.4.3 might begin after the Google I/O conference next month, which certainly gives Samsung ample time to get the update ready.
There’s also the possibility that certain Samsung devices might jump the Android 4.4.2 update and go straight to Android 4.4.3. The upcoming update isn’t expected to bring any major features or new applications though it’s believed to bring a plethora of bug fixes and improvements.
Next month Samsung may release the Android 4.4.2 for a few older devices, including the Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3. The company hasn’t given an official confirmation on this timeframe so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
