We have been hearing rumors that Samsung could be working on a Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, a more premium version of the Galaxy S5 handset that was released not too long ago. According to the rumors, the handset would feature beefier hardware, with some of its highlights including a QHD display and a body made from metal.
In fact these were some of the rumored specs of the Galaxy S5 before its launch, but safe to say that none of these features made its debut in the original Galaxy S5 because apparently it was being reserved for Galaxy S5 Prime. In any case the folks at PhoneArena were sent photos which allegedly shows off the Galaxy S5 Prime and its aluminum body.
Based on the photos, it’s a bit hard to tell if the materials used are from aluminum, so do take it with a grain of salt for now. However there are some design changes that Samsung has made to the phone, such as moving the speaker to the bottom of the phone. Previously the speaker was placed at the back of the phone, but the photos show that it has since been moved to the bottom, although we can’t be sure why.
PhoneArena’s source has told them that the device is currently undergoing testing so perhaps there might be some changes that Samsung could make ahead of its release. Last we heard, there is a chance that Samsung could officially announce the Galaxy S5 Prime in June, but until we heard from Samsung themselves, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
