adidas-app

Modern technology has enabled us to customize things that we couldn’t before. A couple of decades back no one would have thought that it was possible to customize your shoes in a way that they show off your favorite picture. But now it certainly is. Adidas today announced that it will release a new application for iOS and Android this August which will let you print your photos straight on to its sneakers. Bear in mind though that Adidas isn’t exactly breaking new ground here.

The company’s competitor Nike already lets customers add their own personal touches to shoes. Through the Nike iD program customers can opt for a variety of customization options, the fee for this service varies depending upon the changes made. It may cost more than an off-the-rack sneaker but some people really are willing to pay extra for that personal touch.

Adidas hasn’t exactly given a lot of information about the app at this point in time. It only posted a brief teaser on Instagram. It is unclear if the app itself will cost money, the service is only being offered to customers that purchase Adidas’ ZX Flux sneakers which cost north of $85.

The company has only said that additional details about the application will be made available before August. Only thing we can do right now is sit back and wait.
