If you were hoping that Acer would announce new computers at Computex 2014, you might be disappointed. However if you were more interested in seeing Acer’s pushing into the mobile market, then you might be pleased to learn that the Acer Liquid X1 has been made official. This joins devices like the Acer Liquid Jade as examples of some of the mobile products Acer will be sharing at Computex.
In terms of hardware, the Acer Liquid X1 does not differ too greatly from the Acer Liquid Jade. The main difference here would be the difference in screen size, with the Acer Liquid X1 packing a 5.7-inch display, and its processor, with the X1 powered by an octa-core chipset clocked at 1.7GHz. This is versus the 5-inch and quad-core specs on the Liquid Jade.
However both handsets will feature a 720p HD display, but if you were looking for something sharper, perhaps the Liquid Jade would be better due to its smaller 5-inch display. In any case the Liquid X1 will also come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded via microSD.
There will also be a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 2,700mAh battery, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. The Liquid X1 will also support LTE connectivity, so if you wanted a smartphone with LTE support, then perhaps the Liquid X1 could be the phone for you. Unfortunately Acer has not mentioned pricing, but it is expected to be available in Q3 2014.
