4.7-inch iPhone Rumored For August Launch, 5.5-inch To Follow In September

iphone-5s-review-009According to Apple’s history and schedule when it comes to releasing the iPhone, it seems that we have been on the September schedule for the past few generations. It kicked off with the iPhone 4S, followed by the iPhone 5, then the iPhone 5s, and we are expecting the iPhone 6 to follow suit, or will it?

According to a recent report from the Taiwanese media, they have suggested that the iPhone 6 could have a change of schedule. According to them, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model could see a launch in August, while the 5.5-inch model will debut in September instead. This seems to contradict earlier rumors which suggested there could be issues with the 5.5-inch model that could push its release possibly to next year.

Assuming that this indeed the case, could Apple announce the iPhone 6 in both sizes in August before releasing them at separate times? We’re presuming that will be the case, because to launch a 4.7-inch model and only announce a 5.5-inch model later does not seem fair to customers, especially those who might have preferred the larger iPhone 6 model.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but there have been reports that Apple is kicking off production, so a launch in August/September is not a stretch of the imagination. What do you guys make of this latest rumor? Could we really see an iPhone 6 launch in August, followed by another model in September? Does this launch pattern make sense?
