Sprint Launches HTC One Harman Kardon Edition, Spotify Partnership

Sprint announced its rumored partnership with Spotify today and also unveiled an exclusive HTC One M8 Harmon Kardon edition smartphone. This device will only be available for Sprint customers starting May 2nd. It relies upon two technologies to restore frequencies lost during compression, thus providing a much better audio quality particularly for music streaming. The handset is offered with a custom set of Harmon Kardon AE-S headphones with extended bass response, these have a retail value of $150.

Under its new partnership with Spotify, the carrier is now offering six months free of Spotify Premium service for all new and existing postpaid customers on the Framily plan. Customers not on this plan will get a three month extended trial of Spotify.

After the trial customers with 1-5 lines on their Framily plan can subscribe to Spotify for $7.99 per month and those with 6-10 lines for $4.99. Though after 18 months these customers will have to pay the full $9.99 per month fee. Non-Framily customers will have to pay $9.99 per month after the extended trial ends.

Apart from the advanced audio technology there’s nothing different in the HTC One M8 Harmon Kardon edition. It just has a unique black finish with champagne highlights to cosmetically set it apart from the rest. It will be available for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $28.34 with Sprint Easy pay. The device will be available through all Sprint retail stores come May 9th, it becomes available online on May 2nd.
