As far as compact cameras are concerned, the Sony RX100 is regarded as one of the better ones. Not only does the camera sport a Carl Zeiss lens, but it also comes with a 1-inch sensor, unusual for a compact camera, and a very bright f/1.8 lens which makes taking photos in low-lit places easier and might not need the use of flash.
Sony has since updated the RX100 with the RX100M2 but it looks like another update is on its way, thanks to a leaked camera manual which reveals that Sony has a RX100M3 camera that they have yet to announce. The design based on the drawing on the manual seems to indicate that as far as redesigns are concerned, it does not look like Sony has deviated too far from the original design.
Unfortunately the manual does not reveal its specs either, so all we have to go on is the name of the camera and a possible design. However according to Sony Alpha Rumors, they believe that Sony could be announcing the RX100M3 on the 1st of May alongside the Sony A77II. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen, but you can be sure that we’re definitely looking forward to it, so do check back with us on the 1st of May to see if there is any official information that we can share with you guys.
