Sony is at it again, trying to carve out its niche in history with the new Sony MDR-HW700DS digital surround wireless headphones system. Basically, Sony claims that this is the first 9.1-channel digital surround wireless headphones system in the world, where you will be able to enjoy the depth of your listening experience through the different choices of sound effect modes available to you – letting you optimize the listening quality for movies, games, news- and talk shows.
We are also not surprised to see that there is a new “Cinema” mode, which has been developed with the assistance and expertise of Sony Pictures Entertainments’ very own Academy Award winning Supervising Sound Editor Tom McCarthy. Basically, the “Cinema” mode ought to work as named, by recreating a feeling of being at the cinema. Your ears will be able to to enjoy premium detailed uncompressed multi-channel surround sound thanks to the digital wireless transmission which will do away with noise and interference from other devices in the home.
Not only that, the Virtualphones Technology (VPT) that is exclusive to Sony will also be able to reproduce the soundstage of multi-channel speakers so that it can create an immersive acoustic space with refined and authentic surround sound. The 5.1ch surround speaker, surround-back (2ch) and front-high speakers (2ch) will work in tandem so that you get to enjoy 9.1ch surround sound for the most realistic movie viewing experience possible.
