Samsung has had its fair share of smartphones in the market, where they range from entry level to mid-range and high end units. Well, this time around, the Samsung SM-G357 looks set to make another entry to the entry level market, with its hardware specifications leaked already. So far, not too many smartphones run on the Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system other than high end models, so it is interesting to see the entry level Samsung SM-G357 make an appearance with Android 4.4 KitKat in tow.
While it carries the model number of SM-G357M, it remains to be seen whether it will be called something else when it is finally released. Will it be part of the Galaxy range, or will it be called something else entirely? From what we know about the Samsung SM-G357 at this point in time, it will come with a 480 × 800 screen resolution, and in addition to the relatively low model number (considering how the Galaxy S5 is known as the SM-G900), giving this a high probability of it being a low end smartphone.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications have revealed the existence of the Samsung SM-G357, apart from a user agent profile that was posted on Samsung’s website. I suppose more will be revealed in due time, but right now, we will have to be happy with a 4.3” 480 × 800 touchscreen display, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, a 5MP camera at the back, a VGA front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC support.
