Word on the street has it that Samsung is preparing a more premium version of the Galaxy S5 handset. This premium version will allegedly feature the QHD display that was rumored before its launch, but aside from the rumors we can’t tell if this is true. However the handset has been spotted in a shipping manifest in the past where it featured the model number SM-G906S/K/L.
The model number does not exactly tell us what kind of device it is, but speculation has suggested that it could be the Galaxy S5 Prime. Now thanks to a recent sighting on Samsung’s own website, the model numbers have made an appearance, thus confirming that whatever the device, it exists.
Also the listing was found on Samsung’s Galaxy S5 user page where different variants of the Galaxy S5 is listed, so presumably the SM-G906S/K/L might have something to do with it, although what exactly we’re not sure. The rumors are suggesting that the handset could feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM, and either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, or Samsung’s Exynos hexa-core chipset, depending on which market it is headed for.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is rumored for a launch in June so considering that it’s been spotted on Samsung’s website is indication that it is probably getting pretty close to a launch. So, anyone planning on getting their hands on the device, or did you already get the Galaxy S5?
