As the name of this Galaxy S5 variant suggests, it will be a rough and tumble version of the standard issue flagship handset that has recently seen it released globally. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has already picked up IP67 certification, which means you will be able to leave it submerged in 1 meter of water (3.2 feet) for up to half an hour at any one time, and continue using it. What about the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, then? It might be on the receiving end of the next level of certification, which would be IP68, that would place it on par with the Sony Xperia Z2. IP68 certification would enable users to submerge one’s handsets to 1.5 meters (5 feet) for an entire hour without requiring you to purchase a brand new handset.
Do bear in mind that this is just a rumor as at press time, and considering how the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active itself has yet to be announced by the South Korean manufacturer, things miht change before it is finally released.
