Microsoft had promised that it would release a remote desktop app for Windows Phone, and it has made good on that. Today the company released a preview of the Remote Desktop app for Windows Phone 8.1. The app is now available for download through the Windows Phone Store. It lets users experience Windows with RemoteFX in a client that has been designed to help users get their work done wherever they might be.
The Remote desktop application for Windows Phone 8.1 is capable of providing a multi-touch experience courtesy of RDP and RemoteFX which support Windows gestures. Since they provide high fidelity audio and graphics, users can get a rich Windows experience and can continue working remotely on their Windows Phone devices.
Since RemoteFX has been optimized for all network topologies and client types, Microsoft says that users can expect the “best possible remoting experience.” The app supports Network Layer Authentication or NLA protocol which protects users and data.
Starting point of this app is the Connecter Center through which users can manage list of desktops that they can remotely connect to. New connections can be added and existing connections can be edited or deleted from here as well.
