When Samsung announced the Galaxy S5, safe to say some people were disappointed by it. This is not to say that the phone isn’t a good one, it’s pretty good by all accounts, it’s just that rumors have suggested that the phone could sport a QHD display but was instead launched with a Full HD display.
However there have also been rumors suggesting that Samsung could be preparing a more premium line of Android smartphones and that the alleged QHD model could be part of that lineup. Now thanks to a recent photo by @WindyLeak, a certain Samsung device with an alleged 2K display has been spotted hiding inside a dummy case.
Dummy cases are pretty common when it comes to new technology since it hides how the final device will look like. What this also means is that there’s no way of telling if what we’re seeing is the real deal, or if it just a fake or a another device entirely, so do take it with a grain of salt for now.
The leak did not mention which particular phone this is, but since Samsung does not have a 2K phone that we know about, there is a good chance it could be the rumored “premium” model. In fact it was a few days ago that we learnt about a certain SM-G906S device with a 2560×1440 display, so perhaps this could be it.
There is also a chance that the photo we are looking at could be a prototype for the Galaxy Note 4 and if the recently leaked specs are anything to go by, it could also pack a 2560×1440 display. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more info. In the meantime do you guys think this is the rumored premium lineup or a Galaxy Note 4 prototype?
