This is why it is understandable that Polaroid has decided to diversify its offerings and recently the company has announced a new smartphone of their own called the PolaSma (which is short of Polaroid Smartphone).
The handset has been designed for teens in mind and comes in a variety of bright colors which should appeal to youngsters. It’s not the most powerful smartphone we’ve seen to date but perhaps it could appeal to teenagers who might be tight on cash or parents who want to buy their kids something inexpensive.
In terms of hardware, the PolaSma will come with a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 960×540. Not the highest resolution we’ve come across but it should get the job done. It will also be powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 2MP front-facing camera.
The phone will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean preinstalled and will be available in Cherry Pink, Blueberry Blue, and Lemon Yellow. No word on pricing or availability just yet, but based on its specs, we don’t expect it to cost too much.
