Oppo R1 Drops By The FCC

Hmmm, no this is quite an interesting development – the Oppo R1, which so happens to be a handset that was released in December last year, had decide to pay the folks over at the FCC a visit. Apparently, this FCC-bound Oppo R1 handset comes equipped with LTE connectivity, in addition to support for T-Mobile’s network band. Selected areas in the US too, would see this version of the Oppo R1 play nice with AT&T’s signal, and considering how no US carriers are offering this handset at the moment, chances are pretty high that it might end up as an unlocked handset over in the US.

An unlocked handset gives you the freedom to choose your mobile carrier to a certain extent, although there are still other mitigating factors to take into consideration such as network coverage in your area and the likes, not to mention a subsidy that would help you save more money in the long run.

Here is a quick refresh as to what the Oppo R1 comes with – a 5” IPS display with a resolution count of 720 x 1280, a 294ppi pixel density, a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, although there is no microSD memory card slot present.
