With the HTC One M8 having been launched not too long ago, we’re sure many of you guys are wondering how it is doing compared to its predecessor, the HTC One (M7). Unfortunately it seems that the handset is not doing particularly well, at least according to Chitika who reports that out of all the HTC phones in North America, the HTC One M8 only accounts for 0.1% of all HTC devices in use.
Yes we know the phone was just launched about a week ago but in comparison to the HTC One, it is doing as well. Back in 2013 when the phone was launched, the HTC One managed to account for 1% of all HTC devices in North America in a week, so safe to say for some reason the HTC One M8 isn’t as well-received.
Is this something that HTC should be worried about, especially since the company is doing so hot at the moment? Well according to HTC’s Jason Mackenzie, it seems that they aren’t too fazed by the numbers. According to Mackenzie, this is because the HTC One M8 will only be available full retail on the 11th of April, meaning that there is still an opportunity for those numbers to rise.
In fact Mackenzie goes on to state that they are actually pretty satisfied with the initial results. Perhaps HTC is measuring their success in a different way, or perhaps these numbers are actually in line with what they had expected all along, but either way just looking at the numbers alone, it does not look like a good start. Then again, slow and steady wins the race, right?
