Nexus 6 Could Sport Fingerprint Sensor, Based On LG G3 [Rumor]

We’re sure many are wondering what the Google Nexus 6 handset might be like. After all it seems that most flagship smartphones these days are packing similar hardware, so unless Google plans on introducing a 2K display in the Nexus 6, we’re guessing the handset will have to compete on other features.

That being said, Greek Android website, Android Geeks, has heard from insiders that the Nexus 6 could sport a fingerprint scanner. Apparently Google is currently in talks fingerprint sensor manufacturers in Asia which has led to the conclusion that Google could be considering the feature as part of the Nexus 6. With the iPhone 5s and the Samsung Galaxy S5 sporting fingerprint sensor,s we’re guessing Google might want in on the action too.

Their source also informed them that the Nexus 6 will be largely based on the design of the upcoming LG G3. However instead of packing a massive 5.5-inch display, Google reportedly wants something smaller and could go with a 5.2-inch QHD display instead, thus making the pixel density higher than that of the LG G3.

As it stands the specs of the Nexus 6 remains unknown, although it has been speculated that it will most likely come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset clocked at 2.7GHz, 3GB of RAM, and will come in 16GB or 32GB options. It’s actually interesting to hear that Google might be planning a Nexus 6 because there have been talks about a Google “Android Silver” program that will apparently do away with the Nexus lineup, but perhaps the Nexus 6 will be the lineups swan song.

Take it with a grain of salt for now but what do you guys think? Could the Nexus 6 be the last Nexus device, or might Google do away with the Nexus lineup starting in 2014?
