In the image above (clockwise from right), we have J. J. Abrams alongside Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, producer Bryan Burk, Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and writer Lawrence Kasdan. Hmmm, Andy Serkis – is he going to have an on-screen persona like Gollum or Caesar? Only time will tell.
We also do have confirmation that Peter Mayhew, retaining his height at sixty-nine years old will take on the role of Chewbacca, alongside Kenny Baker being promised the role of the droid that had saved the galaxy many times over, R2-D2. Anthony Daniels ought to work on his gait to get that muscle memory going again as he dresses up as C-3PO.
Screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan was also present, has he has been credited with the best script of the series in “The Empire Strikes Back,” as well as in the “Return of the Jedi”, so it should be a blast next year. Thankfully, there is no Jar Jar Binks or other equally irritating characters, and we cannot wait to see whether there will be more lens flares than the recent Star Trek movies from Abrams himself.
