It was at the end of last month when we brought you whispers of Google working on a possible “Powered by Android” boot screen animation requirement for future Android-powered devices so that folks are well aware that the device they use runs on Google’s mobile operating system, instead of dubbing it a “Galaxy” or a “Droid”. Having said that, it seems that the Moto X has just received a new boot animation from Motorola that will feature the said “Powered by Android” boot screen.

Of course, that is not all, as the likes of the Loch Ness Monster, a UFO, and a Sasquatch also make an appearance in the new boot screen thanks to an update by Motorola for its “Boot Services” app that is available over in Google Play. The old animation is no longer there, which means there is no more “a Google company” tag line considering how the company has been offloaded over to Lenovo.

This is not the first time that Motorola altered its boot animation, since they received a holiday theme last year, so it is nice to see changes like this arrive from time to time. We welcome such creativity, how about you? Do you think that other smartphone manufacturers should follow suit?
