With the Monster Hunter franchise from Capcom gearing itself up to celebrates its 10th anniversary, a simple cake with some candles on it will not do. No sir, it would need something that is far more hard hitting, but to celebrate one’s decade in existence with a guitar might seem to be rather unorthodox. ESP Guitars has modeled an axe on a sword, which so happens to be the in-game Rathalos Firesword, will be the accessory that celebrates the 10th anniversary of Monster Hunter.
This particular accessory will not arrive cheap though, where it will be made available in Japan for a whopping 2.3 million yen a pop. If one were to make such a conversion in terms of U.S. currency, that it would amount to a whopping $22,000 plus. I suppose after forking out all of that money, to see it arrive with a case would not be out of place.
Do you think that commemorating this gaming series with such an expensive guitar is worth the effort? It is not as though the game’s series needs any more introduction, especially in Japan, but I suppose that any attention is always good. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is said to launch in the west sometime early next year, while folks living in Japan will be on the receiving end of Monster Hunter 4G later this fall.
