Microsoft has slowly been moving towards consolidation of its software and today that mission evidently continues with the launch of two Windows 8.1 applications for Windows Phone 8.1. The latest WP update was announced earlier this month and a developer preview has already been released. The public release of Windows Phone 8.1 is scheduled for this summer though anyone with a compatible device can get their hands on the developer preview right now.
The Reading List app now makes its way to Windows Phone 8.1. Its essentially Microsoft’s version of Pocket, an app which lets users store app content or links to catch up on at a later time. The app syncs data between both PC and mobile so users won’t miss out on anything regardless of the device they’re on. Reading List for Windows Phone 8.1 also lets users filter and sort articles into categories and even pick up links on the go.
Movie Moments is the second Windows 8.1 app that makes its way to mobile today. Its a very simple video editing application which lets users create one-minute clips. The emphasis is on sharing, with the app allowing users to post directly to Facebook, email, OneDrive and more. All options like captions, background music and clip trimming found on the PC app are present on Movie Moments for Windows Phone 8.1.
