About a week ago, we reported that Nintendo had confirmed that there would be a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle. This is great for gamers who have been holding out on purchasing a Wii U specifically for the game, although the bad news is that the announcement seem to target the European market, meaning that we have no idea if the US would be graced with a similar bundle as well.
Thankfully Nintendo is not neglecting its US customers because according to the folks at Best Buy, they have recently started accepting pre-orders for the Wii U Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Set which is essentially the same bundle in Europe, except that it looks like it will come in a slightly different designed box instead.
The bundle will be priced at $329.99 which is pretty affordable, especially when compared to more recent consoles, not to mention the fact that there will be a game included as well. In fact it turns out that the Wii U bundle in the US is slightly more attractive as not only does it come with a 32GB Wii U console, but also comes with a Mario theme Wii Remote and a red MK8 steering wheel control!
To be honest Mario Kart 8 played with the steering wheel does require a fair amount of skill and I’ve always preferred using regular buttons, but to each their own, not to mention it’s a free accessory, so why not, right? Best Buy has given the bundle a release date on the 30th of May in line with the release of the game, so if you’re interested in getting your hands on it, pop on over to Best Buy’s website for the details.
