“Going gold” is a term that has been used in the past to indicate how a particular piece of software, or game, is ready to be shipped to the masses after being prepped for release. Well, it seems that releasing hardware in this particular shade, too, is something that companies see as worth the effort, considering how folks tend to flock to gold-plated or gold colored devices like a moth to a flame. The LG G Watch looks set to be the latest piece of technology that will feature a shade of champagne gold, being one of the first members in the Android Wear club.
To date, however, it remains to be seen just exactly when will the LG G Watch roll out to the masses, apart from the “summer” timeline that everyone and their aunt knows. As for its pricing details, so far the unofficial figure that has been bandied around would hover at the $300 mark, which is pretty expensive actually when you consider how there are other timepieces out there which will cost a whole lot less. Of course, these would basically just tell the time and nothing more, but then again, the smartwatch market is largely untested until now.
