Over the past few weeks we have been hearing a lot about an unreleased Huawei smartphone. The Huawei Ascend P7 has made numerous rounds of the rumor mill, we have seen leaked images and purported specifications. While all that is yet to be confirmed, at least we now know when the company intends to do that. Huawei has started sending out press invites for an event in Paris on May 7th. At the event it will officially unveil the Ascend P7.
Rumor has it that the Ascend P7 has a 5-inch full HD 1,080×1,920 pixel resolution display, a 1.6GHz quadcore HiSilicon processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Its also expected to have a 13 megapixel rear camera as well as a 8 megapixel front camera with a 2,460mAh battery. Android 4.4 KitKat might come pre-installed.
As always, Huawei is likely to slap on a custom skin over the core Android OS. At the event it is expected to unveil EmotionUI 2.0, a radically changed iteration of its custom Android user interface. No word as yet on the customizations that Huawei has made.
Pricing and availability information is not yet available, we will have to wait for Huawei to tell us about that next month. It is also not known if and when Ascend P7 will be destined for the West.
