According to Kuo, the features of the iWatch are more or less the same as what we have been hearing so far, which is that they will be health-related through iOS-exclusive health monitoring apps. He also states that the devices will utilize a sapphire cover and flexible AMOLED display panels which seems to be in line with the rumors we have been hearing about.
Kuo also believes that design will play a big part in differentiating the iWatch from the competition. As we have seen in the past, smartwatches typically feature pretty “boring” square-ish designs, save for the Moto 360 which was a real treat for the eyes. Apple could also be going that route and utilize a variety of different materials for its casing and the watch band.
In fact, and this sounds very unlikely, Kuo states that there could even be a premium model that will fetch as much as several thousand dollars which is the price one can expect from a luxury brand mechanical watch.
When the Samsung Galaxy Gear was first launched, the price of the device was something that many criticized Samsung for, so we can only imagine how customers will react to a smartwatch that costs thousands of dollars, especially in an industry that continuously seems upgrades and improvements made every couple of months.
Take it with a grain of salt for now but what do you guys think of Kuo’s predictions? Believable?
