Sony PlayStation 4 fans have something to be excited about. Evolution Studios’ Driveclub was supposed to be a launch title for Sony’s new console however in October last year it was revealed that the game had been pushed into 2014. Yesterday we reported that some sort of an announcement regarding this title was due soon. President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida has today confirmed the Driveclub PS4 release date.
The much awaited title will be released for Sony PlayStation 4 on October 7th, 2014. It has been delayed by almost an entire year. Though Yoshida says that “the problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way.” He claims that Driveclub offers what has not been previously achieved in this category which is why the team needed more time to finish it.
In order to give us a glimpse of how development has progressed Yoshida also shared a new trailer. He says that the studio is committed to delivering on its ambitious promise of creating a truly “innovative, socially connected racing game.”
Additional news about Driveclub PS4 is promised for the coming weeks, including a blog update from Paul Rustchynsky, the game director for this title. So, who’s excited?
