What better way to raise funds in order to make your hardware dreams a reality than through the famous crowdfunding site Kickstarter? The folks over at Dimenco has just launched a Kickstarter campaign that, if successful, will deliver the first 4K glasses-free 3D TV in the market via the crowdfunding route. Dimenco of Holland is looking to raise Є199,000 in order to get their dream on the right track, with the ambition of releasing the finished product for Є899 later this year.
The upcoming glasses-free 3D TV will sport a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, but is rather limited in its capability to play 1080p when in 2D mode. If you were to watch it in 3D, however, you would gain full access to the resolution. It remains to be seen whether a 3D 4K input will be available or not. What we do know is this – the display itself will sport a 150 ° ultra wide viewing angle that ought to be able to deliver good 3D performance regardless of the angle or distance.
Other specifications include a standard response time of 6.5ms, although Dimenco did mention that the TV will only arrive in a 39” image size, although it would not be out of place should there be additional sizes being made available to the masses in the future.
