Both consoles were released in November 2013 but given that there aren’t many games available for either platform at the moment, we suppose there are gamers out there who are holding back on purchasing the console yet and might plan to do so at a later date. What this means is that they might get the PS3/Xbox 360 version of Destiny first.
According to investment lead, Tyson green, “A lot of people are going to buy Destiny on PS3 or Xbox 360 and then get a PS4 for Christmas. Don’t tell me I wasted those last 100 hours there. So we’re really interested in supporting that. Our longer-term platform plans, I couldn’t speak to right now. But we don’t want to lock people in.”
Unfortunately Green did not mention how the transfers would take place, and he was not able to comment on what happens to gamers who switch platforms, such as PS3 to an Xbox One, or Xbox 360 to a PS4. “We don’t have any plans to announce there right now. Traditionally that’s been restricted by the platform [holders] themselves. We’ll just have to wait and see where they go with that.”
However for gamers who are planning on sticking to the same brand, we guess you can rest assured knowing the hours you clocked and the progress you’ve made will not be completely wasted.
