Earlier today we reported that there was a possibility that Google would let anyone have the opportunity to buy themselves a pair of Google Glass, albeit for only one day. The good news is that if you did not manage to get into the Explorer program but would love to own a pair of Google Glass, you’re in luck as Google has since confirmed that this was indeed happening.
However Google warns that spots are limited and given how popular Glass is, we can only imagine that they will sell out really quick, so if this is something you’re interested in, you probably need to have your mouse on the “buy” button and get ready to start clicking once it goes live next Tuesday on the 15th of April.
The Glass unit that Google will be selling will be the same unit that other Explorers have been buying, which also means that it is not priced very consumer-friendly and will set you back $1,500, so if you’re not prepared to make that investment, perhaps you’ll want to wait for the consumer version to be released where hopefully it will be cheaper and more affordable.
Google has also announced that they are planning to include its designer frames so if you were worried that Glass might clash with your fashion or style, then these designer frames are definitely worth checking out. The sale of Glass will kick off at 9AM EDT so if this sounds like something you might be interested in, head on over to Google’s website to sign up your interest and Google will remind you when the sale goes live. So, any takers?
