In just a little over a month, Nintendo’s highly-anticipated Mario Kart 8 will see release on the Wii U. Given the franchise’s popularity, we can only imagine how many gamers are eager to get their hands on the device, and interestingly enough, it seems that if gamers were to pre-order the game via Best Buy, they would be given a $10 coupon that can be used towards real gas that you can put into your car.
We reckon that should be enough for gamers to drive themselves out to the nearest Best Buy and back. However this deal also applies to online purchases of the game so fret not for those who prefer to make their purchases online. Once the code has been supplied (on the receipt or in an email), gamers can head on over to revupyourkart.com/redeem to enter the code and redeem their $10 Gas Cash.
This coupon is valid at any gas station in the US that accepts MasterCard, so that’s worth taking note of. Perhaps gamers might have preferred something in-game instead as a pre-order bonus, but we think it’s a pretty clever idea as not only does the bonus tie-in with the game (driving-related), but it also has real-world use which might be appreciated. There will also be a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle that is expected to be released at the same time although there was no mention of a US launch, only Europe for now.
