When Beats Music was launched earlier this year, the service made its way onto iPhones, Android smartphones, and computers. It made perfect sense because we bring our smartphones with us wherever we go, so why not listen to music while on the go too, right? The good news for iPad owners is that Beats Music has not forgotten about you guys and could be releasing an iPad version soon.
This is thanks to a recent teaser image by Beats Music along with the caption that reads, “THIS JUST IN: Your favorite Music App is feeling ready to grow in size…literally… “ The caption and the accompanying image above really leaves little to the imagination but then again, it’s not a stretch of the imagination to think that Beats Music wouldn’t want to get on as many devices as possible.
While Beats Music does have a strong backing by veterans in the music industry, recent reports have suggested that the music streaming service might not be doing so well for itself. Their subscription figures are apparently in the low six-digits range, but with the iPad version coming soon, perhaps they might see an increase in subscribers.
At the same time it’s their business model that could be deterring customers. With services like Spotify offering users a free listening tier, versus Beats Music which requires the listener pay for a subscription after a 7-day free trial, listeners might simply choose to use a different and free platform instead of paying for it.
