That being said, a new mockup has surfaced, courtesy of Italian website Macitynet. According to them, this particular mockup is made by a case manufacturer. The mockup in question is used by the manufacturer to test their cases and over the past few months, manufacturers have reportedly been refining the design.
The iPhone mockup in the photo above is said to be considered the “final” design, meaning that the manufacturers are pretty sure that this is how the next-gen iPhone will look like. If anything it seems to be in line with what we have heard so far. This includes curved edges that resembles the iPad Air’s design, a relocated sleep/wake button, and interestingly this mockup also includes a camera that appears to protrude ever so slightly.
Previously it was suggested that Apple could choose electronic image stabilization over optical image stabilization as it would allow them to create a camera that’s lies flush against the body of the iPhone, versus optical image stabilization that would cause the camera to jut out a bit. Interestingly this case also shows off a single flash, versus the two-tone flash found on the iPhone 5s.
That being said it’s still a little early to be looking forward to the iPhone 6. Assuming Apple’s keeping to their timeframe, we can only expect the device to make an appearance in the later part of the year, so until then take it with a grain of salt.
