According to reports, Xiaomi has managed to sell 100,000 units of the Redmi Note in just 34 minutes. However when compared to Xiaomi’s previous efforts, like the Xiaomi Mi3 which sold 100,000 units in a little over a minute, it seems like Xiaomi could be losing their touch, but then again perhaps we’re just nitpicking as 100,000 units in half an hour is still pretty damn impressive.
Just in case you missed our coverage on the Xiaomi Redmi Note, or are wondering why the handset has proven to be so popular, here’s a quick recap on the specs. The phone will pack a 5.5-inch 1280x720p HD display. It will also be powered by MediaTek’s “true” octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
The phone will also come with a 13MP rear-facing camera and a decently sized 3,200mAh battery, although it is somewhat disappointing that Xiaomi went with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean instead of KitKat, or at the very least Android 4.3, but hopefully they will remedy that in the near future.
